  1. How does it work? Participants collect donations to have their hair shaved or cut to benefit cancer research and patient care programs at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. (Did you know that Roswell Park is America’s first cancer center, and one of the National Cancer Institute’s premier comprehensive cancer centers?).

  3. Who can shave or cut your hair? Anyone! Ask cosmetology students from your school or a local hair salon to volunteer their time to handle the shaving or cutting the day of the event.

  5. What if you only want to cut your hair? No problem! You can follow the Pantene Beautiful Lengths “Hair Donation Guidelines” for length and type of hair and complete a Hair Donation Form.

  7. What happens at a Goin’ Bald for Bucks event? You can plan your Bald for Bucks event any way you like. You can also decide whether you want to make the event open to the public or a private affair.

  9. When can you Go Bald for Bucks? Anytime – the possibilities are endless! It’s easy to make your Goin’ Bald For Bucks fundraiser a “hair shaving” success! Just follow the button links at the top of this page to get started.   1. Who should I make my check out to? Please make all donation checks out to “Bald for Bucks.” Make sure to list the participant’s name in the memo field.

  3. How should I fundraise? The fastest, most efficient way to fundraise is online through your Bald for Bucks personal fundraising dashboard. You can also collect donations through our paper donation form.

  5. Where do my donations go? The funds raised through Goin’ Bald for Bucks support adolescent and young adult programs at 13thirty Cancer Connect as well as cutting-edge research and compassionate, innovative patient-care programs at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.   7. How do I credit cash and check donations to my online fundraising page? Check donations should be mailed to the Bald for Bucks – Rochester at P. O. Box 644, Buffalo, NY 14240. Please allow 12-15 days after receipt for offline donations to be processed and posted to your fundraising page. Cash donations can be dropped off at the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation (901 Washington St., Buffalo, NY 14263).

  9. How long will it take for our team fundraising total to be updated? Please allow approximately two weeks after receipt for your team donations to be posted to your fundraising page.

  1. Who will be cutting or shaving my hair? Your Goin’ Bald for Bucks event coordinator or host will reach out to local hair salons to find volunteers to snip, clip or shave heads at your event. If you have trouble finding qualified volunteers, please contact the Goin’ Bald for Bucks coordinator at 13thirty Cancer Connect for suggestions. You can find a list of participating salons here.

  3. Who is responsible for securing hair cutting/shaving supplies? The volunteer hair stylists/salon are responsible for bringing all appropriate tools and supplies to perform a head shave and/or haircut.

  1. Who chooses the event location? You do! Choose any available location, date and time that works for you!
  2. What types of events are there? You can go bald as an individual, with a group or with your school. You can also go Bald for Bucks with Team Roswell at Roswell Park.
